Grandma Sheller Picture

I took a picture of this old photo of Cora Hammett. No year is stated on the front or back.

From my records she was born August 21, 1886. The census of 1890 was destroyed in a fire for most states so the first census she appears is 1900. Her full name is Cora Melvina Hammett. Her father Allen Hammett Jr. had an older sister named Milvena. The spelling is different from the census than I have from my records but Cora’s middle name is not on the census.

This is the 1900 Census for Cora Hammett. Download the file in the media center. It has the word LARGE in the title.

Above are the front and back of the picture.

This is a 11 x 14 picture I made for framing though you are looking at a smaller file just for viewing online.

If any of you want this size and view I can print it for you.

Hmm, light eyes, curly hair, cute cherub face.

Very sweet picture. I’d love to put that on my wall, if you don’t mind printing a copy.

BTW Have you printed Grandpa Emery yet?

I have a birthday present for you I which haven’t been able to send, but will be able to do so soon. I had it finished before your birthday, but just haven’t had the opportunity to get it out the door.

    Maisy,

I sent you the picture today First Class Mail you will receive it on Friday.
The picture is printed on 11 x 17 paper. If you get a large frame with a border and 11 x 17 opening don’t trim the ends. If you get an 11 x 17 frame then you will have to trim the ends.

Since George died I haven’t done any picture processing except for the picture I just sent you, though I didn’t do much with it. Grandpa’s picture needs a lot of work and because it will be large more can be seen. I’ll try to work on it this week.

Any pictures you want larger prints of, send me the file and I’ll print it. I can print up to 17 x 22.

Debbie, thank you! It arrived and is framed, hanging in my upstairs hall (for now). She’s all alone on the wall, but it brings such life to the area. As Asa, 10, tells me, it’s kind of spooky she looks at you without looking at you, looking through you. 🙂

I did trim the ends, put it in a decent frame I just got at Michaels. I’ll try to get a photo of it and upload it. I think it looks wonderful! Thank you again!
