I uploaded some art pictures I’ve done in the last few years. The black and white are pencil and charcoal, the colored ones are soft pastel paintings. I have been teaching myself to oil paint but it is very hard to learn without a teacher. My free time is limited as I am watching my Grandson James and all household chores are mine alone.
look in the media to see the pictures. The colored one of fruit is not finished.
Alright, I’ve been too lax with this site. I keep it going, but hadn’t logged in since 2014 or so.
I’m trying to get some things a bit more organized at home, and then I’ll be trying to get some things scanned FINALLY!
One easy peasey scanning method is using a modern Android phone. Google Photos app has a “scanning app” add-on, it’s useful to a degree, but my phone, Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge+, is more useful as a “take a photo of a photo” for better results and even more simply done.
Current photos that I take: I used to use Camera’s more, now I use my good old Samsung phone, it’s the best light camera I have. I do have a Sony Cybershot p&s, and a Canon EOS 7D which is very heavy.
Photos on Google Photos from my phone, uploaded in same resolution but smaller mb size are unlimited uploads. Full uploads take up space.
Here’s one from my Google Photos I took the other day:
Google Photos added benefit, all things I scan or take a photo of are in the Cloud instantly.
I had a Flickr Pro sub. for years, and this year canceled it, I hadn’t hardly uploaded anything there the last few years. I find Google Photos more useful for me, and no one else looks at my photos much anyway.
Verizon is buying Yahoo, so I don’t want to use Flickr any more for just that reason, but my lack of using the site anyway, and it feeling way past its prime this decade, I had an easy decision.
Does anybody have any wedding pictures from Mom and Dad’s wedding they could email to me or upload? I haven’t been on this site for a couple years I think.
Hi Sisters!
For the last few months I have been upgrading my house. First my windows, sliding glass door, my front door and kitchen door to the garage and finally a new garage door with a belt drive. Recently I got new blue shutters that match the door color. I also did landscaping in the front and side. My trim was wrapped in white. It was a fancy job. My house looks almost new on the outside. I had the deck removed.
The inside is still crappy but I am upgrading my kitchen in January. I ordered my cabinets yesterday.
I’ll post pictures once it’s done. I’m getting cherry full sized cabinets and Verde butterfly granite counters. My kitchen space will be widened and my pantry and refrigerator will switch places and the dishwasher will move to the right side of the sink. The kitchen window will have to be moved and the soffits and half wall will go away. Everything in that space will be replaced. 🙂
I am sanding and painting all my stained wood work trim. I removed all the paneling in the den, stairs and hallway. Much of the baseboard was cut short for the paneling so I have to replace it. Ben loaned me his brad nailler, staple gun and finish nail gun with a compressor. That will be a great help to me as nailing by hand gets tiring really quickly.
This action really helps me deal with George’s absence. These were all things we talked about doing but I am going much further with the kitchen plans that he would have. I wish he could see what’s been done so far. Thanks giving went okay but I felt depressed and by the evening I started crying and I couldn’t stop. After everyone left it kept up and there was nothing I could do to control it. I woke up the next morning crying too. I was scared I was going crazy but I started telling myself it would pass and it did. I don’t’ know if all the holidays will be like that. Thanksgiving was probably George’s favorite holiday.
I am buying a new violin. I brought it home yesterday as a loner, but all I have to do is call the shop to say I am keeping it and they will charge the card number I left with them. It is so different than mine and now I know why I had been getting frustrated at trying to do vibrato and other problems. I can actually put a flat head of a screw driver behind the strings of my old one in the top area. I can’t even get the screw driver behind the strings of the new one. I tried to capture the differences in photos but they didnt turn out. I am posting two photos with both of them side by side.
I am so sorry that your birthday came and went and the card I have for you is still here waiting for a stamp. I have been majorly distracted lately with the hurricane barreling up the coast and worry about Debbie and her family. Work was stressful for me this past week but the weekend did come and now I am regretting not calling you or emailing you, or sending your card. I just want you to know that I love you and miss you. I am so glad I got to see you for a brief time this spring, even though it was such a sad occasion. I hope you had a great birthday. I was reading the archives for last year and see that I did send a timely message to you via Sheller Girls, and that you said you were celebrating 39 again. wow. Is that a coincidence or what? I am the same age! Hope all is well with you and your family. Love, Becky
