A few years ago I downloaded the Field Genealogy book from a genealogy site I can access with my library card number. I had to download it in sections. I combined the pdf files. It was too large, 1390 pages and a 119 MB file. So I deleted most of the pages and left the first 208 pages that contain all the family information we need. The file is a zipped 19 MB file on my verizon site. You can downloaded it here: Choose to save it, don’t choose open. If Adobe Reader won’t open it, update to the newest reader.

This is scaled down but still a huge amount to read. The Field family like many others in our family history seem to link to William the Conqueror of Normandy who conquered Anglo-Saxon England in 1066 the story of the invasion is shown on The Bayeux Tapestry.
There are two pictures of the Field-VanVechten Bible, it is a Dutch bible from 1603. All the pictures in this book are bad. I would love to find an original book to see if they are better. I don’t know if modern reprints of the book are any better than these pdf files.
Dear Sisters I bought this book, Dutch Houses a few years ago. It was published in the 1930’s but only had one printing. This book is a Dover reprint from the 1950’s and it costs a bundle if you can find a copy. It is a paper book but a very good quality. There are many pictures of houses but I am only giving you the family history to read here. It is a fat book so it would take much effort to scan it. I haven’t even read it all. I’ll look through the book for more information and some pictures but I have to locate it first. Click on the thumb nails for a readable/printable view.
Yesterday I was digging through a drawer and found my picture folder and my most detailed facial drawing. I thought I would share it with you all. I drew it around 1989 from a smaller picture of Mom. I only did a few drawings that year so I didn’t have much practice when I did this one. As you can see I ran out of room so the top: her hair is missing. Her face was the interesting part so her hair and clothing are not detailed. It was done with a no.2 pencil on horrible paper. There is a diagonal fold that I didn’t notice until I scanned it today. Click to see it larger. Go to the pictures to download the file: MomDrawingbyDebbie1989large.jpg. The larger file will print on 8 x 11.5 paper.
I am selling a Home Needlework Magazine that has 20 crochet beaded purse patterns and 2 color plates showing many of them. I thought you all would like to see the pictures. Click to see a larger one. The top picture has 2 purses that have gold (brass) angels in the center.
Just a few hours after I put it up on eBay for buy it now 64.95 someone bought it. That happened to the last one I put up too but that was an embroidery issue.
My Hp LaserJet is still not working but I bought a rebuilt fuser last week. If that doesn’t work then I will have a monster large printer to get rid of.
Last week the only printer I have left stopped printing color. It is my old Epson 1520. It is the printer I will be using to print the large family pictures. Last week the color out light came on steady and despite putting in new ink the light wouldn’t turn off. After paying for retail priced ink and it still didn’t work I finally had to search online for the solution. After wasting my time looking at what Epson had to say, I searched on Google until I found my problem at a forum I’ve used for my other printers in the past. It was a quirky fix, turn the printer on and unplug it then turn it on again then like magic the ALT button works to be able to start the ink replacement so the printer recognizes it. Even though there was good ink in the printer, it couldn’t use it. I was seriously thinking I was going to have to buy a new printer soon and I don’t have the money to buy one I would like. Now that can wait. 🙂
I received the mat cutter a few days ago but I didn’t do a good enough job on the mat that came with the frame. Today I got some mats that were cut to an 11 x 14 inside opening but the outside measure is 16 x 20. That was the only size available. I can cut the outside down or we can just use 16 x 20 fames. I like that size especially since I will be cutting the top and bottom and a mat for a 16 x 20 starts thicker than the mat for the smaller frame I had. I didn’t find uncut mats there. I might need to buy that online.
Dear Sisters, Today I found the father of Elizabeth Slack, thanks to my belief for the last few years and Google.com scanning the worlds books resulted in a real family find. I think I told you all before I was pretty sure that her father was Reeder T. Slack. He was born about 1805 in NJ. He lived in Warren county and Hunterdon county in his lifetime. He was married twice. His first wife ,(only known to me by her cemetery stone as Rosanna H.)is the Mother of Elizabeth and her sister Anna Maria Slack or Ann M. Slack and two younger brothers that died before adulthood. She I believe died around the age of 35. She is buried in the same cemetery as the others. Both sisters Elizabeth and Ann Marie were close owing to the fact that they lived close together all their lives and she and Marie’s husband and infant are buried in the family plot in a New Jersey cemetery, I forget which one. I have that data in my family tree file but I am using windows 7 and I don’t have my family tree software loaded now.
The other things I found on Google:

Sudden Death
Last Friday evening in Frenchtown, occurred a sudden death. Reeder T. Slack residing in Frenchtown, a mason by trade, was employed at Ringoes. On Friday morning last, he complained of felling unwell and desired to return to his home, and was accompanied by a young man as an escort. They left the depot in Frenchtown, upon the arrival of the 6 o’clock evening train and in crossing the street, Mr. Slack remarked to his companion, “There is the Foundry” and fell immediately dead in the street.
As to the new confirming information it is in the photos slack-emery01 to slack-emery06. These are 6 pages from an 800 page pdf.
Sylvanus D. Slack is married to Reeder and Deliah’s daughter, Emma Francis. You will have to read this a few times to get it. All we care about is the family confirmation.
I downloaded the windows live upgrade. I didn’t know this was part of the package until you told me about it Marysue. This was much easier to set up than the word 2007 blog post. But with word maybe I could make it prettier.
This is a test. The test worked. Wow, this is easy.
This picture is Becky and I in 1960. This was cut out of a larger scene but the original was about 1.5 inches before I enlarged it. This still hasn’t been fixed.
